Snippets Admin

Snippets Admin is available to authorized users only.

Snippets Admin is where you create snippets. A snippet is reusable text. You use snippets in secure messages, including direct messages. Snippets can save time and make it easy to compose messages. You can create snippets for a variety of text. You may want to create a snippet for a frequently used sentence or an email signature. You may want to create a template for an entire message. Prefilled brackets, for example, [*USERPRACTICE*], are available to help you create snippets. The system populates the brackets with data when you insert the snippet in a message. A generic bracket [*****] is also available. You can insert the generic bracket in a snippet next to a label or text where you want the user to enter information. The user can press TAB to advance through the generic brackets to enter the requested information before sending the message. Snippet authorizations control whether you can create snippets for yourself only, or for a group. Snippet administrators can view and manage all snippets in their groups.

Create Snippet

Complete the following steps to create a snippet:

  1. From the menu bar, select My Account > Snippets Admin. The Snippets Admin page opens.
  2. Select Create New Snippet. The Add Snippet dialog box opens.
  3. In the Snippet Title box, enter a snippet title. The combination of snippet author and title must be unique.
  4. In the Snippet Text box, enter snippet text.
    1. If you want to use prefilled brackets in your snippet, you can select one or more brackets from the Prefilled Brackets list. When the snippet is inserted in a message body, the system will populate the brackets with data (if the data is available).
    2. If you want to use the generic bracket [*****] in your snippet, you can select it one or more times from the Prefilled Brackets list. As a user completes your snippet template, the user can press TAB to advance through the generic brackets to enter the requested information.
  5. If you want to make the snippet available to your group (versus Self Only), you can select Group. Group Admin will be displayed as the snippet author. Only authorized users have this option.
  6. Select Save to create the snippet and close the dialog box. The new snippet is displayed on the Snippets Admin page.

Sort Snippets
