Add Attachments to Secure Message

To add attachments to a secure message, you can Attach from Local Device (Select Files or Scan Files) or Attach from Patient Archive Document Repository.

Note: Supported file types are: .BMP, .DOC, .DOCX, .JPEG, .JPG, .PDF, .RTF, .TIF, .TIFF, .TXT, and .XML. Unsupported file types include .HTM, .HTML, .PPT, .PPTX, .XLS, and .XLSX.

Complete the following steps to select a file (with a supported file type) from your local device and attach it to a secure message: 

  1. From a secure message (new, forward, reply, draft), click the attachments button. It may be labeled Add Attachments, or Add or Edit Attachments. Message Type must be valued to enable the attachments button. The system displays the Attachments dialog box.
  2. On the Attach from Local Device tab, click Select files.
  3. Locate the file to attach and click the file name, then click Open. To attach multiple files at one time, press CTRL while making selections. To select several files in a row, press Shift while making the first and last selections. The files are uploaded to the secure message.
  4. Select a Document Type for each uploaded file.
  5. Click OK to save and return to the secure message. The attachments are listed below the Add or Edit Attachments button.
  6. If you want to remove an attachment, click the red x icon next to the file name.
  7. If you want to add or edit attachments, click Add or Edit Attachments.  

 

Attach from Patient Archive Document Repository

Complete the following steps to select a document from the Patient Archive Document Repository and attach it to a secure message: 

  1. From a secure message (new, forward, reply, draft), click the attachments button. It may be labeled Add Attachments, or Add or Edit Attachments. Message Type must be valued to enable the attachments button. The system displays the Attachments dialog box.
  2. On the Attach from Patient Archive Document Repository tab, select the check box of each document you want to attach to the secure message.
  3. Click OK to save and return to the secure message. The attachments are listed below the Add or Edit Attachments button.
  4. If you want to remove an attachment, click the red x icon next to the file name.
  5. If you want to add or edit attachments, click Add or Edit Attachments.
