Order Status and Allowable Action List

The status identifies where an order is in the workflow. The status also indicates if the practice or hospital can act on the order and what action can be taken.

Note: Supported order statuses may vary according to order form type.

The following order statuses are supported in the application:

Intraportal/Outbound
   Cancel Order Request from the practice to the hospital to cancel the order. I
   Canceled The controlling party canceled the order.

O (ARM-enabled referrals)

   Completed A referral appointment has been attended or the referral has been placed into a Completed status by a referral coordinator. O  (ARM-enabled referrals)
   Failed The Referral Management API has returned an error code. The failure reason and configurable contact text is displayed when you select the Failed status in the Orders/Referrals Inbox. A practice may cancel an order that has a Failed status. O (ARM-enabled referrals)
   Hold The practice has control of the order. The order has not been submitted and is in a saved state.

The practice has control of the order and is awaiting approval before the order is submitted.

   In Process The hospital or external system has control of the order, and it is being processed. The practice has read-only privileges and cannot act on the order.

O (ARM-enabled referrals)

   Modified The order was modified. I
   Order Filled The hospital filled and completed the order. Patient results are sent to the ordering practice, and included providers if subscribed. I
   Ordered

The order is submitted. For intraportal orders, the hospital and practice can act on the order.

For outbound ARM-enabled referrals, the Referral Management API has successfully received the referral. The referral ID is displayed when you select the Ordered status on the Orders/Referrals Inbox. For outbound orders, the external system controls the order.

   Pending

An outbound order was successfully submitted, and the patient was not found in the receiving system. The Order is held in the Orders and Results Master Patient Index queue for patient creation. The Order is released when the patient has been created. The practice has read-only privileges, and it cannot act on the order.

   Rejected A referral coordinator has received the referral and has rejected it. O (ARM-enabled referral)
   Scheduled The hospital has control of the order. The test or referral has been scheduled. The practice has read-only privileges and cannot act on the order.

   Submitted The referral has been submitted and is awaiting a response from the Referral Management API. O (ARM-enabled referrals)
