Browser Context Menu
The patient portal does not support functions provided by your browser context menu such as print, select all, and copy.
Document Viewer
Your browser context menu is suppressed in the portal's document viewer. When you right-click in the document viewer, an Unsupported Action message is displayed.
See the Google Chrome topic if you are using Chrome browser and have trouble with the Print icon in the portal document viewer.
Turn Off Headers and Footers
The patient portal requires that headers and footers are turned off in your browser's print settings to ensure that printing is successful. The portal is designed to assist with this requirement by overriding browser header and footer print settings where possible. It is recommended that you turn off headers and footers in your browser's print settings to ensure that printing is successful. The way that you do this varies across browsers. Below is an example of how to turn off headers and footers in Google Chrome.
Complete the following steps to turn off headers and footers in Chrome:
- In the upper-right corner of the browser window, select Customize and Control Google Chrome:
- From the Google Chrome menu, select Print. The Print dialog box opens.
- Expand More settings to display print Options.
- Next to Options, deselect the Headers and footers check box to turn off headers and footers.
Google Chrome
If you are using Google Chrome browser and have trouble with the Print icon in the portal document viewer, a Chrome setting may be causing the problem. The setting is named PDF documents. It controls whether .PDF files are opened in the Chrome PDF viewer or downloaded by default. The setting must be off, which means automatically open .PDF files in Chrome, for the document viewer Print icon to work in the portal.
Complete the following steps to turn off the Chrome PDF documents setting:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- In the upper-right corner of the browser window, select Customize and Control Google Chrome:
- From the Google Chrome menu, select Settings.
- Under Privacy and security, select Site Settings.
- Under Content, expand Additional content settings.
- Select PDF documents.
- Select the blue circle to turn off Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome.
Mozilla Firefox
If you are using Mozilla Firefox browser and you print from the portal, you may experience blank pages, print quality issues, or other problems with the print output. The recommendation is to use a different browser for printing.
